President of Uzbekistan to take part in the SCO summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) on 16-17 September. This was announced today by the press secretary of the head of state Sherzod Asadov.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev is expected to hold bilateral meetings with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on 16 September. At the same time, a meeting with Iranian President Ibrohim Raisi will take place on 17 September.
The SCO heads of state summit will be held on 17 September. Following the summit, the presidency in the SCO will pass from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan.
On 17 September, a meeting will also take place in a new format - "Shanghai Cooperation Organization - Collective Security Treaty Organization". The meeting participants will discuss the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
