Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to attract foreign investment and expand economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as promote economic diplomacy, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuzha Abdurakhmonov paid a working visit to the city of Kyoto, the Uzbek Embassy in Tokyo said.
During the trip, meetings and negotiations were held with the mayor of Kyoto, Kadokawa Daisuke, the chairman of the KYOCERA Corporation Goro Yamaguchi.
At a meeting with the mayor of Kyoto Kadokawa Daisuke, prospects for trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation were discussed, the investment potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan was presented, large-scale reforms carried out in the republic and achievements in all spheres of life over the past four years were highlighted.
Mayor of Kyoto Kadokawa Daisuke noted with satisfaction the great interest in cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan, the rich historical heritage of the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Kokand, as well as the wide potential of cooperation between Kyoto and the city of Termez within the framework of membership in the League of Historical Cities.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan M. Abdurakhmonov noted the great untapped potential of cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, trade and economic spheres between the cities of Uzbekistan and Kyoto.
They discussed such areas of cooperation as organizing the days of Uzbekistan in Kyoto and the days of Kyoto in Uzbekistan, intensifying tourist trips from Kyoto to Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan to Kyoto as the situation with the pandemic stabilizes, holding events to present the tourism potential in Kyoto.
Also, agreements were reached on establishing cooperation between museums in Kyoto and museums in Uzbekistan. The issue of cooperation with the University of Kyoto and the universities of Uzbekistan was considered, in terms of student exchange, training programs, attracting Uzbek students to study at the University of Kyoto.
The issue of holding a "business seminar" for the Kyoto business community and presentation of investment potential, implementation of joint projects with Kyoto companies was discussed separately.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the practical implementation of the agreements and the further expansion of cooperation between the cities of Uzbekistan and Kyoto.
During negotiations with the chairman of KYOCERA Corporation G. Yamaguchi, agreements were reached on working out the issue of attracting the company for the implementation of joint projects jointly with the Association "Uzeltehsanoat" for the production of printers, solar panels, the sale of ultra-thin copper foil for the production of lithium-ion batteries, printed circuit boards , electronic components.
For his part, the chairman of KYOCERA Corporation G. Yamaguchi noted that to date, according to the available information, the products of the company "KYOCERA Corporation" have been sold in Uzbekistan for only 500 thousand dollars and expressed a desire to send a team of specialists to Uzbekistan to study the market and the development of joint proposals for cooperation.
