President: The total public debt not to exceed 50-60% of GDP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- To maintain high rates of economic growth, macroeconomic stability will be ensured. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at a session of the UzLiDeP party in Tashkent.
According to the President, by the end of 2023 the inflation rate will drop to 5%. The state budget deficit will not exceed 2.5% of GDP.
Based on the needs of the population, the country plans to annually allocate 1.5-2 trillion soums for solving the most acute problems in the field.
The annual volume of newly attracted external debt will not exceed US$5 billion, and the total public debt will not exceed 50-60% of GDP, the President said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that US$120 billion will be attracted over the next five years, including at least US$70 billion in foreign investment.
The export potential of our country will increase 1.7 times and will reach US$30 billion in 2026. The share of raw materials in exports will decrease from the current 46% to 23%, and the volume of finished products will increase 2.5 times.
