Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan announced the start of the tender stage (Request for Qualification) for independent electricity producers (investors-developers) for projects for the construction of 3 solar photovoltaic stations (FES).
The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Agency for the Development of Public-Private Partnerships under the Ministry of Finance, with the support of the International Finance Corporation.
The project stipulates the construction of three solar photovoltaic stations with a total total capacity of up to 500 MW in Namangan (150 MW), Bukhara (250 MW) and Khorezm (100 MW) regions.
The winner (s) are expected to design, finance, operate and maintain the solar PV plant for 25 years. For the FES project in Bukhara region, it is also planned to integrate a battery storage system for electricity.
