The number of flood victims in Germany exceeds 100 people

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The death toll from floods in the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate has risen to 60. Thus, the total number of victims in Germany exceeded 100, the N24 TV channel reported.

Earlier the DPA agency reported that the number of flood victims in Germany increased to 94 people: 43 in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia and 51 - in Rhineland-Palatinate. At the moment, about 1.3 thousand people are reported missing.

The floods were caused by heavy rains, as a result of which the tributaries of the Rhine Ahr and Moselle, as well as the small rivers Sauer, Prüm, Niems, Kiel and Erft, overflowed the banks. This led to the flooding of entire settlements, the destruction of bridges, houses and roads, as well as the breakage of power lines.
