Kazan Federal University to open a branch in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kazan Federal University (KFU) plans to open a branch of the university in Uzbekistan. Deputy khokim of Jizzakh region of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhodjaev made a proposal to organize one of the campuses of the university in Jizzakh. This was reported by the press service of the KFU.
The corresponding agreement was signed on 7 June 2021 between the Russian university, the khokimiyat of the Jizzakh region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan on preparation for the establishment of a branch of Kazan University in the city of Jizzak and the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of educational activities.
The rector of Kazan University said that the purpose of creating the branch is to train highly qualified personnel for the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with educational programs and generally recognized international requirements for the quality of higher education.
“This step will contribute to further effective cooperation with our friendly republic and the formation of a common corporate culture. We demonstrated to the delegation members our branches located in Yelabuga and Naberezhnye Chelny in order to comply with uniform standards for training specialists of all levels, advanced training and retraining of scientific and pedagogical personnel in agreed main directions and specialties of education,” said Ilshat Gafurov.
Earlier, the deputy khokim of Jizzakh region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Azim Akhmedkhodjaev, noted that due to the intensive development of the region, there was a need for highly qualified personnel in such areas as "Biomedicine and Pharmaceuticals", "Oil, Oil Refining, Petrochemistry", "IT and Space Technologies" and dr.
In order to implement this Agreement, KFU ensures that it is sent to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation to obtain an appropriate conclusion on international cooperation issues provided for by this Agreement in accordance with the requirements of Article 105 of the Federal Law from 29 December 2012 “On Education in the Russian Federation. Federation”.
The agreement comes into force from the date of receipt of a positive opinion from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
