Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Online veterinary medicine is launched in Uzbekistan as part of a program for farmers.
The program includes educational seminars for livestock breeders, veterinary consultations from Russian specialists and the sale of pedigree livestock to farmers. Organizers: State Veterinary Committee and Jizzax Organic National Agricultural Cluster.
On 2 June, a seminar for livestock breeders of Khorezm region was held in Urgench. The organizers were the State Veterinary Committee and the national cluster Jizzax Organic. Similar educational seminars will be held in 2021 throughout the republic.
During the event, the launch of online veterinary medicine in Uzbekistan was announced. Russian experts from Jizzax Organic will remotely inspect livestock and advise their owners on treatment, feeding and use of drugs.
“Online veterinary medicine is essential at this stage in the development of the industry. Farmers often contact Jizzax Organic to inspect sick animals. We have the resources and highly skilled workforce to provide this kind of assistance to farmers. The cost of veterinary outsourcing is minimal and is set only to cover the costs incurred,” said Hikmatilla Karimov, director of Jizzax Organic.
The organizers of the seminar also spoke about the work carried out in the field of improving the breed of cattle and providing the Uzbek market with quality meat. Now the farmer has access to:
• State subsidies from the Veterinary Committee: from 1 to 2 million for each unit of pedigree livestock, 2 thousand soums for each kilogram of live weight of an animal raised for meat;
• purchase of heifers of the second category from the USA, Russia and Europe at cost. The Jizzax Organic Cluster assumes all the risks of import and acclimatization of a thoroughbred animal, and also undertakes to subsequently redeem the calves from the farmer at a price higher than the market price.
It is expected that this comprehensive program will lower prices for meat and reduce the volume of its imports due to the entry into the market of a high-quality local product.
