Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 22 to 25 April, a team of doctors from the NGO Kapalak bolalar, together with Russian specialists from the Children-Butterflies Foundation, conducted patronage in Surkhandarya region and Termez. They visited all districts of the region where the organizations under their care live.
During the trip, the doctors visited densely populated urban makhallas, remote villages, and even high in the mountains. In total, there are 50 wards of the organization in the region - they examined everyone, many in the KVD of Surkhandarya region, they came to others right at home.
“Thanks to this patronage, we managed not only to diagnose and help dozens of “butterflies” and “fish”, but also to identify those who need special daily attention and care. We also found out who would need help immediately, in the very near future. For example, our ward Kholmuminova Maksuda from the village of Ok Kuprik, Sherabad district. Now she is expecting the birth of her first child, and of course she needs the special daily attention of our employees. It is especially pleasant that in every house we were welcomed and greeted with great warmth, attention and sincere gratitude!” said the head of the medical and social service of the NGO Kapalak bolalar Guzal Jabbarova.
We would like to note that the team of Russian specialists included:
Anastasia Sabitova - Head of the Medicine Department of the Children of the Butterfly Foundation
Margarita Gekht - dermatologist at the Russian Foundation for Children-Butterflies
Grigory Zinoviev - surgeon, oncologist, head of the surgical department of bone, soft tissue and skin tumors at N.N. N.N. Petrova
From the side of the NGO Kapalak bolalar, specialists took part in the patronage: Madamin Kholdarbekov, Guzal Jabbarova, Olimjon Khidirov, Makhsuda Solieva and Nilyufar Sharipova.
During the visit of Russian doctors, the ward of the organization, Norbek Shomuradov, underwent a second organ-preserving operation.
“Norbek is 35 years old. Earlier, in November last year, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the skin of the right ankle joint against the background of epidermolysis bullosa. In Tashkent, a team of Uzbek and Russian doctors performed organ-preserving surgery on him. But after 4.5 months, a relapse of the disease was diagnosed. Our doctors decided to carry out the limb-preserving operation for the second time,” said Guzal Jabbarova.
Norbek was operated on in Surkhandarya branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology. The operation was performed by a Russian oncologist, surgeon at the National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after V.I. N.N. Petrova, Ph.D. Grigory Vladimirovich Zinoviev.
Norbek is feeling well now. On the third day after the operation, he was sent for hospitalization at the KVD of the Navoi region. There he is under the supervision of a dermatologist at the NGO Bakhtiyor Shamuratov. Now Norbek is undergoing rehabilitation and regular dressings under the supervision of specialists.
Russian doctor Grigory Vladimirovich notes the goodwill and professionalism of our doctors who are ready to provide qualified assistance to people with EB.
Contact has been established between Uzbek and Russian specialists for further interaction. Joint operations are planned to continue. New regions and trips ahead!
