Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, after more than a year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, regular flights of Uzbekistan Airways on the Tashkent-Riga-Tashkent route have been resumed, the Dunyo news agency reported.
As a reminder, regular flights were suspended in March 2020 due to the global spread of coronavirus infection.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the resumed flight was carried out on the A-320 NEO airliner.
Representatives of Uzbekistan Airways noted that flights in May will be operated on Mondays, and as the situation with the pandemic improves, on Fridays too.
For the airline of Uzbekistan, Riga is a key point connecting Asia with Europe. Uzbekistan Airways maintains active long-term cooperation with AirBaltic. The main goal for the Uzbek air carrier for 2021 is the return of the accumulated passenger traffic between the two countries and its further increase.
