Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Moscow’s Simonovsky court canceled Alexey Navalny’s suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case and replaced him with 3.5 years in prison, RIA Novosti reports.
Judge Natalya Repnikova satisfied the FSIN’s submission. She noted that 12 months spent by the defendant under house arrest will be counted as punishment according to the "day to day" formula.
“The court considers it necessary to impose a punishment on Navalny in the form of a general regime colony,” she added.
If the defense fails to challenge the decision, Navalny will spend less than 3.5 years in prison.
The parties can appeal the court decision within 10 days. Lawyer Vadim Kobzev told RIA Novosti that the defense will use this right.
