Chinese platform Alibaba simplifies registration for Uzbekistan merchants

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan (AEU) has become the official partner of the trading platform in the republic. An Uzbek confectionery factory has already signed an export contract with a platform for US$3 million.

Registration on the Chinese trading platform Alibaba has been simplified in Uzbekistan. The Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan became the official representative of this company in our country. This was reported by the national agency UzA.

“Previously, local Uzbek entrepreneurs exported their products through the Alibaba website in sums,” said Maruf Pardaev, a leading specialist at the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan. - But this is a rather large portal, a very complicated process, so there were many misunderstandings during registration. Many entrepreneurs were unable to get their work done,” the specialist noted.

Now, under an agreement with a Chinese company, Alibaba has made it easier for Uzbek exporters to access the platform. This will open up a wide range of opportunities for local Uzbek companies and exporters to list their products on this portal.

“In fact, Alibaba has not yet opened a branch in Uzbekistan,” said Mukhtor Umarov, chairman of the Uzbekistan Exporters Association. - Because their requirements are high. Many naturally wonder what is the benefit for Uzbekistan. First, we can quickly, conveniently and inexpensively present our products to the global electronic network. This platform serves as a guarantee for both parties. As a result, our entrepreneurs will be able to export their products. Second, and most importantly, through Alibaba we can enter the Chinese market and through China to neighboring countries. This will allow increasing Uzbek exports by 2-3 times,” the AEU chairman notes.

An Uzbek confectionery company was one of the first to sign an export contract with the platform for US$3 million. Experts see the official activities of Alibaba as a step towards economic change in Uzbekistan and the conquest of the global online platform.
