CIS Electric Power Council wraps up meetings meets in Baku

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 35th meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council took place in Baku, bringing together representatives of the relevant bodies of Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Moldova, as well as a delegation from Iran.
Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Shmatko said that they discussed 6 issues, including the performance of the CIS power systems in 2008-2009, implementation of the agreement on the parallel operation of power systems, development of action plans for projects within the scope of the CIS Electricity Cooperation Concept etc.
“We also exchanged views on the establishment of the Caspian and Black Sea annular power network systems,” he added.
The CIS Electric Power Council was established in 1992.
