Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Hanjin Group, a leading global logistics industry, has launched a full-fledged project to develop Navoi Airport in Uzbekistan as the country’s logistics hub in Central Asia.
Uzbekistan Airways and Korean Air signed a cargo lease agreement during a conference on the ’Navoi Free Industrial Economic Zone (NFIEZ)’, which was hosted by the Uzbek government to offer new investment opportunities for Korean partners in Uzbekistan, held at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on 5 March.
With the contract signed, Hanjin Group plans to transform Navoi into the center of ground network in Central Asia.
Korean Air is to lease two units of A300-600 cargos to Uzbekistan Airways for five years which are expected to transport freight to Europe and Southeast Asia.
