During the meeting, the Afghan delegation got acquainted with current state and perspectives of development of Uzbektelecom’s telecommunication network, as well as projects under implementation.

In their turn, the Afghan delegation told about current state and perspectives of development of telecommunication infrastructure in Afghanistan. It was said that modernization of telephone stations and construction of fiber-optical communication line is underway, which will improve quality of services.

The sides discussed further development of bilateral mutual beneficial cooperation in telecommunication. The special attention was drawn to organization of international trans-border crossing between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan through fiber-optic communication line and connection of Afghanistan to telecommunication network of Uzbekistan to get access to telecommunication networks of Europe, CIS and traffic transfer.

The Afghan side expressed interest in cooperation with the Uzbektelecom on several directions of the information and communication technologies.
