Otamuratov: Uzbekistan has most expensive transport services
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan has most expensive transport services, a candidate to the post of the President of Uzbekistan from Milliy Tiklanish Sarvar Otamuratov said at the Fifth Congress of the party.
“Results of researches show that today prime cost of transportation of 20 tonnes of products to 500 km at automobile roads costs US$1.75 per 1 km. To compare, the figure makes up from US$0.7 to US$1.3 in neighboring states,” he said.
Otamuratov underlined that there are problems with development of logistics infrastructure, large number of documents, required to export local products. He added that the consideration of these documents is expensive and takes long time. He added that all these prevents growth of export potential of Uzbekistan and artificially increases prime cost of the Uzbek products at external markets.
Presidential candidate said that it is necessary to provide preferences to transport companies, develop and improve system of leasing of trucks. At the same time, Uzbekistan should work on decreasing cost of customs services and simplify order of border crossing, he said.
