The mission will assess pre-election situation and preparations to elections, as well as familiarize with work of election body and state organizations, political parties and mass media.
Based on the result of the mission, the OSCE will determine participation in the elections as observers, its format, number of observers and period of observation, Nizamiddin Nurmatov said.
He noted that the mission will visit Uzbekistan on 11-14 October 2016. It is expected that the mission will hold talks at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central Election Commission, Supreme Court, Legislative Chamber and Senate, Justice Ministry, National Human Rights Center, National TV and radio company, Ombudsperson, etc.
