CEC: Presidential elections to be held on 4 December

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New presidential elections in Uzbekistan will be held on 4 December, the chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said.

CEC adopted a corresponding decision on holding presidential elections on 9 September, he said.

According to CEC, the elections of the President of Uzbekistan will be held on Sunday, 4 December 2016.

In this connection, Central Election Commission announced about launch of presidential election campaign in Uzbekistan from 9 September.

New elections will be held in connection with the death of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
