Uzbekistan can introduce criminal punishment for use of UAVs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to introduce administrative and criminal punishment for illegal use of air space of the country.
The Government of Uzbekistan plans to introduce correspondent changes to the legislation. The draft law “On introduction of changes to Criminal Code and Code of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility” was published at the Single State Interactive Services Portal.
The document said that illegal use of air space, including radio-controlled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will lead to administrative responsibility in the form of fine at the size from 100 to 200 minimal sizes of salary or administrative arrest for 15 days with confiscation of objects of the offense.
Similar offence after administrative punishment, or if it resulted in moderate or serious injuries, will lead to criminal punishment. Similar violation will be punished with correctional labor work up to two years, or imprisonment for up to three months.
If the action caused the death of a person, the offender shall be punished with correctional labor up to three years or restriction of liberty from 2 to 5 years, or imprisonment up to 5 years.
The same action, which results in loss of life, accident or other serious consequences, shall be punished by imprisonment from 5 to 10 years.
As reported earlier, from 1 January 2015 Uzbekistan introduces a ban for import, sales and use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
