Government of Uzbekistan holds an official reception for KOICA volunteers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 May 2016, on the initiative of the First deputy Prime-minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov an official reception on behalf of the Government of Uzbekistan was held at the conference hall of the Ministry for foreign economic relations, investments and trade for KOICA volunteers, dispatched from the Republic of Korea.
The event was organized with the goal of strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as to encourage and congratulate KOICA volunteers, working in Uzbekistan.
The reception was attended by the First deputy Prime-minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov, Minister for foreign economic relations, investments and trade Elyor Ganiev, deputy ministers of partner ministries such as MoFA, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of agriculture and water resources, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Lee Wook-heon, and the Director, staff and 26 volunteers of KOICA Uzbekistan Office. Congratulatory speeches were delivered.
In his speech, the First deputy Prime-minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azimov R.S. noted that the close partnership ties between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea originate since the 6th century, Uzbekistan follows Korea as an example for development. He expressed a wish to jointly provide support to other Asian countries in the future. Also, Rustam Azimov expressed his gratitude to KOICA volunteers for their work and requested to serve as a bridge between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Lee Wook-heon expressed gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for organizing such an incentive reception in honor of the volunteers dispatched by KOICA. Similar event was also organized in September last year. Ambassador Lee Wook-heon requested that, as the representatives of the Republic of Korea, all volunteers should put a greater effort into their works.
At the reception, the volunteers were presented with souvenirs. In their honor the dinner was organized, accompanied by cultural and entertainment program of folk music and dance ensemble. KOICA volunteers wholeheartedly expressed their deep gratitude for the hospitality of the Government of Uzbekistan and expressed their feeling of pride and at the same time of a huge responsibility as volunteers.
