KAIST plans to open its branch in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is planning to open its own branch in Uzbekistan.
Issues of opening of KAIST branch in Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting of the delegation led by the Dean of Finance Deparment Jangkoo Kang at the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan.
Department Jangkoo Kang underlined that the KAIST is planning to create its branch in Tashkent if the issue is settled with the Uzbek side.
Jangkoo Kang said that in in initial stage, the branch will accept about 200 students and number of students can be increased further. In future, it is planned to open economic faculty.
KAIST is one of leading research universities of the Republic of Korea. The Korean Government founded the university in 1971 as the first national scientific, research and technical institute.
It is worth to mention that South Korea’s Inha University opened its branch in 2014.
