Chelyabinsk and Uzbekistan to continue fruitful cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chelyabinsk (Russia) will become twin city of Samarkand or Tashkent (Uzbekistan). This was announced at the meeting of the head of Chelyabinsk Yevgeniy Teftelev and Consular-General of Uzbekistan Raushan Matchanov.
During the meeting, the sides considered many issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Chelyabinsk.
Raushan Matchanov said that currently Uzbekistan cooperates with 70 regions of Russia and Chelyabinsk is third place after Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Chelyabinsk is priority for Uzbekistan, he said.
Uzbek official said that partnership relations between two sides are developing for many years. He expressed his assurance that the ties will develop further.
Yevgeniy Teftelev noted that about 3,000 Uzbeks are living in Chelyabinsk and the specialized center was created to solve their problems. He said that the city always tries to strengthen with other nations.
Head of Chelyabinsk promised to visit Uzbekistan at the end of the meeting.
