Size of fines for speeding clarified in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced changes to the Code of administrative responsibility, which clarify the size of penalties for speeding while driving.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan”, which introduced changes to the Code of administrative responsibility.
Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 29 July 2015 and the Senate approved it on 6 August 2015. The amendments came into force on 11 August 2015.
According to article 128-1 of the code, increasing speed of the vehicle by over 40 km/h compared to set speed limit will be fined to the sum, equal to seven sizes of the minimal salary.
Earlier, the size of penalty was equal to 10 sizes of minimal salary or withdrawal of driving license for one year. Other sizes of the penalities for speeding did not change.
