According to the company, the technology will allow to increase maximum speed of data transfer up to 42 Mbps. This result is achieved due to simultaneous use of two frequencies of UMTS instead of one. In the result, the data transfer speed from base stations to mobile phones of the subscribers will grow twice.
Currently, HSPA+ technology covers Tashkent. Mobile operator UMS is planning to expand coverage area and connect the regions of Uzbekistan in 2015.
Deputy director-general on technical part of UMS Evgeniy Lukyanchuk said that development of network and connection of new technologies to HSPA+. He said that it is vital for MTS to ensure that the subscribers have Internet, which allow them to watch video, live broadcasting, online games, download large files, etc.
Evgeniy Lukyanchuk underlined that the use of two frequencies simultaneously will decrease load to network and double the capacity. He expressed his assistance that the subscribers will fell and rate the difference.
