Ucell launches campaign “With gratitude”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan marks Day of Memory and Honour on 9 May and on the eve of the holiday, mobile operator Ucell launched a special campaign “With gratitude” for veterans and participants of the World War II and labour from, low-income elder people in 12 regions.
The operator said that the campaign will last till the end of May 2015.
The campaign is one of many initiatives of Ucell, which are included to its annual social responsibility programme. Within the programme, the operator support such spheres as education, sport, children development and others.
The campaign “With gratitude” also supports the state programme “The Year of attention and care of elder generation”.
Within the a year-long campaign “With gratitude”, all veterans of the World War II and participants of labour from were offered a special a tariff plant “With gratitude” in March. The tariff plan has no subscription fee and each month the subscribers receive 60 free minutes of calls within Uzbekistan.
On 7 May, the Ucell regional offices and headquarter in Tashkent hosted solemn meetings with veterans with dinner. Representatives of the operator also will visit homes of those veterans, who are not able to visit offices of Ucell. The veterans will receive gifts and congratulations.
The company is also planning to launch a special project “History of one photo”, dedicated to elder people of Uzbekistan and memory of war veterans. Till the end of the year, the company plans to collect photos and their history and present the best of them at album “URespect”.
Margarita Merkulova, World War II veteran, said: “I express my gratitude to Ucell for initiative, attention and gifts. This is attention, which every person needs. It is pleasant that young generation value peace and respect us. I congratulate all with the holiday!”
Nurmuhammad Tursunov, World War II veteran, expressed gratitude to Ucell for the invitation. He said that he has no chance to go to street everyday and meet friends. He said that he also received new tariff, which allows him to talk with relatives and children. He said that the event helped to communicate with friends and taste pilaf. “I brought my photo from front, which is very valuable for me. When I was talked that it is planned to create album, my eyes shed tears. This is history, which will be kept. It is very valuable initiative.”
Veterans of labour also contributed to prosperity of Uzbekistan and people, as well as for peace. The veterans noted that it is supreme happiness to live for the Motherland, country and people.
