Resource center for children with special need opens in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opening ceremony of pilot resource center within the project “Inclusive education for children with special needs in Uzbekistan”, financed by the European Union, was opened at School No. 324 of Shayhontahur district of Tashkent city on 30 April 2015.
The event closed a series of launch of pilot resource centers of the project in five regions of Uzbekistan – in Urgench, Termez, Namangan and Samarkand, which took place in February 2015.
Resource centers were organized at general schools – pilot objects of the EU-funded project “Inclusive education for children with special needs in Uzbekistan”. The centers will work 15 hours a week for all, who need advice and help.
Opening of the resource centers will be launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Education, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, Ministry of Health and Republican Center for adaptation of children.
The pilot resource centers will promote, coordinate and provide inclusive education services for children with special needs, their families, teachers, organizations and public, who contribute to inclusive education.
The main goal of the centers is to protect interest of children with special needs via rendering consulting support, provide and coordinate inclusive services to children with special needs.
