MPs discuss a draft law “On veterinary” in new edition

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The committees of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan are considering draft laws, directed at reforming judicial-legal system, protection of healthcare of population, environment and other spheres.
A working group, created at the Committee on agriculture and water issues, discussed a project “On veterinary” in new edition, which is prepared for the second reading.
Information service of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis said that the law “On veterinary” was adopted in 1993 and it is necessary to review it.
The draft law is directed at solving veterinary-sanitary issues to develop veterinary services in Uzbekistan, protect population and animals from diseases, protect environment.
Member of the Committee on agriculture and water issues R. Kobilov said that the law “On veterinary” does not regulate efficient interaction of veterinary services with other ministries and departments, production and use of medicaments, used in veterinary. He said that the draft law envisages incorporation of over 10 new norms, directed at eliminating shortages in veterinary services.
It was underlined that the draft law was developed based on recommendation of international organization and foreign states as Australia, United States and Baltic states.
