Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The movement of entrepreneurs and business people – The Liberal-Democratic party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) should seriously prepare to the second round of parliamentary elections, the chairperson of the Executive Committee of Political Council of UzLiDeP Sodiqjon Turdiev said.
He said that the party won 47 seats in lower house of parliament from 113 electoral districts, where elections were completed, in line with preliminary data of the Central Election Commission, which makes up 41.2% of seats.
Sodiqjon Turdiev stated that despite the party claimed the majority of the seats, it is not satisfied with the result as it can win more seats.
He noted that the party, which represents businesses and farmers, should strengthen agitation and promotion of its pre-election programme. Turdiev said that newly elected MPs should work for people of Uzbekistan and help to solve their problems.
He said that the party wants to win more seats in the second round of elections. He recalled that in 2009, the party won 18 seats from 27. He said that the party had great opportunities. Turdiev underlined that the party should mobilize its efforts and opportunities and carry out serious work before re-elections, which will be held on 4 January 2015.
