CEC: Pre-election agitation conducted without violations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan held a session to discuss results of monitoring of use of mass media during pre-election agitation by parties and candidates.
Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov chaired the meeting.
It was underlined that in line with the legislation of Uzbekistan, all political parties and candidates receive equal conditions to hold agitation.
The agitation campaign was launched in Uzbekistan on 15 November. The parties and candidates received equal time and printing space in local mass media.
The session noted that the CEC did not record any violation of legislation during the agitation campaign. The parties presented their programmes at Uzbekistan and Yoshlar channels, printed their materials at Pravda Vostoka and Norodnoye Slovo newspapers. The parties and candidates held TV-debates. The political parties also actively are using outdoor advertisement, including 25 electronic screens.
The session considered preparation of territorial election commissions to the voting. The reports of fire safety and state of communication means at polling stations were also considered. The session adopted corresponding decisions on considered issues.
