Asian Games 2014: Uzbekistan defeats Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan U-23 claimed the second victory within the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon on Monday, 22 September.

In the third round of the Asian Games, Mirjalal Kasimov’s side claimed a 5-0 victory over Afghanistan.

Egor Krimets opened the score on 6 minutes. Vohid Shodiev doubled the lead of Uzbekistan on 41 minutes.

Farrukh Sayfiev netted the third of Uzbekistan on 49 minutes. On 86 minutes, Igor Sergeev scored the fourth of Uzbekistan. On 90 minutes, Vohid Shodiev recorded a brace.

Uzbekistan topped the Group B with seven points. Hong Kong took the second place with 7 points.

In the round of 16, Uzbekistan will meet Saudi Arabia, which finished on the second place in Group A. The match will take place on 26 September.
