UzLiDeP considers rational use of water resources

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Khorezm regional Council of Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan held a business seminar “Further expansion of introduction of new technologies in use of limited water resources of the country”.
Representative of NGOs, Farmers Council, local administration, businesses and farmers participated in the event, the party’s press service said.
It was underlined that demand for water in Uzbekistan is increasing due to development of economy. Uzbekistan adopted measures to reform the agriculture sector, including via adoption necessary legal documents.
Deputy chairperson of Khorezm region council of UzLiDeP Muhammedmurod Hudoyberganov said that the party in cooperation with the state bodies to promote rational use water.
He said that 114 associations of water users were created in the region to ensure strict adherence to use of water limits. About 247,300 hectares of lands irrigated in the region. Over 14,031 km of internal irrigation networks deliver water to consumers.
During the event, the participants highly rated activities of farmers in Hozarask, Honqa, Yangibazar and Gurlan districts, which introduced trickle irrigation systems. The participants discussed issues of preventing violations in water use.
UzLiDeP activists underlined that it is necessary to introduce achievements of science and technology for rational use of water resources in Uzbekistan and improve organizational-economic mechanisms in the sector.
At the end of the event, the participants shared their opinion and recommendations on rational use of water, including drinking water.
