Kazakhstan ratifies agreement with Uzbekistan on border representatives

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev signed a law “On ratification of agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of Uzbekistan on activities of border representatives”.
The agreement was signed in Tashkent on 13 December 2000.
The border representatives are authorized officials, appointed from military officers of border services to solve issues on supporting set state border regime.
The border representatives will monitor compliance with established rules of crossing the state border and in cooperation with relevant government authorities they must undertake necessary measures to combat the smuggling of arms, ammunition, drugs, currency, and radioactive substances.
The border representatives will be involved in identification of dead human bodies and taking measures for their deliver to their homeland.
