Samsung Engineering brings hope to children in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samsung Engineering, Korea’s leading engineering company, expanded its representative CSR programs for children in Uzbekistan to facilitate the co-prosperity for the region, where the company is currently delivering the UGCC Polymer Project.
With attendees of 300 people including Mr. Jaksimova Halima of Uzbekistan Ministry of Education, Samsung Engineering held an official ceremony for the ‘Hope Library’ donation in Akchalak, Karakalpakstan and launched its Eco-generation School, an environmental education program.
Samsung Engineering donated 1,800 books and provided bookshelves for the library renovation at the ceremony. The ‘Hope Library’ donation campaign was started in 2012 to improve educational environment of the region where Samsung Engineering is executing projects. The company has been reaching out to India and Iraq, and plans to further expand to Bolivia in this year.
After the ceremony, the Eco-generation School Program was provided to 119 students grade 1st through 6th for environmental poster drawing competition and 51 students grade 7th through 9th for assembling solar-powered houses.
Samsung Engineering’s official commented: “We highly value the environmental education for raising the awareness of the next generation about environmental issues and we are glad to contribute to the Uzbekistan community at this moment. We plan to increase more educational opportunities including building libraries and providing various environmental education programs to our partners around the world and put utmost efforts to grow together.”
