Working group on customs cooperation of SCO hold meeting in Moscow

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Twenty second session of the special working group of customs cooperation of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Moscow, Russia, on 25-26 February 2014.
Representatives of customs services of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the SCO Secretariat, the department of communications of the Federal Customs Service of Russia said.
The participants considered several actual issues. The sides considered a draft memorandum among customs services of the SCO member states on interaction in sphere of development and use of risk management systems.
The document determines main direction of cooperation, including exchange of non-confidential information on methods and technologies on risk management system, experience in this area. The memorandum will hold joint researches, events and conferences.
The sides considered issues of cooperation in combating smuggling and violations in customs spheres. The sides discussed a draft protocol on interaction of customs services of the SCO member states in law enforcement sphere.
The protocol will help for further effective actions in combating customs violations and crimes, as well as conduct joint events, exchange information on customs crimes, and hold joint consultations.
The experts discussed proposals on the draft protocol on information exchange, which is required to determine and control customs prices of goods among the SCO member states. The protocol will help determining customs prices of goods and exchange this information.
The working group decided to hold next session of the special working group in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in April 2014.
