Majilis of Kazakhstan consider protocol on accession of Uzbekistan to CIS Free Trade Zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan considered a protocol on intention of Uzbekistan to accession to the Agreement on free trade zone, the press service of the Kazakh parliament said.
The participants of the agreement are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.
Uzbekistan informed the Executive Committee of the CIS on intention to join to the agreement in February 2012.
In this connection, the ratification of the protocol of the session of the Council of the heads of the governments signed the protocol on 31 May 2013.
The protocol was signed on 31 May 2013 in Minsk, Belarus. The document was signed at the session of the heads of the government of the CIS.
The protocol sets legal mechanisms of interaction of Uzbekistan and member states of the agreement. It sets mechanisms of function of the free trade zone with participation of Uzbekistan.
The agreement on free trade zone in the CIS was signed in October 2011 and Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Tajikistan and Ukraine are signees of the document. Uzbekistan became the ninth member of the treaty.
