Uzbekistan produces 4.09m tonnes of coal in 2013

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan increased production of coal by 9% year-on-year to 4.09 million tonnes in 2013, the press service of open joint stock company Uzbekugol said.
According to the company, production of brown coal made up 4.07 million tonnes (+9%) in 2013 and coal – 20,100 (+1.5%).
Uzbekugol produced 3.891 million tonnes of coal in 2013 (+9.4%), Shargunkomir – 20,100 tonnes (+1.5%) and Apartak – 178,400 tonnes (+1.4%).
The volume of mining works made up 19.5 million cubic meters in 2013, which rose by 1.37 times year-on-year, Uzbekugol said.
The company supplied 5.567 million tonnes of coal to its consumers in 2013 (+53.2%). In particular, Uzbekugol delivered 5.288 million tonnes of coal to consumers in the reporting period (+52.4%), Shargunkomir – 40,400 tonnes (+211.7%) and Apartak – 238,700 tonnes (+56.4%).
The volume of production of goods in current prices made up 222.9 billion soums and in comparable prices – 104.4 billion soums. The production of localized goods rose by 2.6% to 3.3 billion soums.
Currently, Uzbekugol produces coal at Angren mine in Tashkent region, which has explored reserves with 1.9 billion tonnes.
Shargunkomir hold a license to develop Baisun and Shargun coal mines in Surkhandarya region in south Uzbekistan with explored reserves of 45.8 million tonnes of coal.
