Uzbekistan Temir Yollari transports 63.7m tonnes of cargoes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock railway company Uzbekistan Temir Yollari transported 63.7 million tonnes of cargoes from railway stations within internal directions in 2013, which rose by 3.5% year-on-year, the senior manager and senior engineer of the company Husnuddin Hasilov said.
He said that the company also transported 8.3 million tonnes of transit cargo in 2013.
Representative of the company added that 11.1 million of imported goods were transported into Uzbekistan and 7.4 million tonnes of export products shipped from the country.
Husnuddin Hasilov said the railway company transported 18.5 million passengers within internal routes in 2013, which rose by 7.9% year-on-year.
In the reporting period, the enterprises of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari produced industrial goods for 288.7 billion soums in 2013, which rose by 8.1% year-on-year, Hasilov added.
Within the localization programme, the company implemented 20 projects for 121.9 billion soums, which helped to produce localized goods for 123.8 billion soums.
In 2014, the company plans to increase the volume of sent cargo by 6%, trade turnover - by 5% and transport 19 million passengers. It is also planned to increase production of industrial goods by 8.9%.
