Uzbekistan, Japan to boost tourism cooperation

A roundtable dedicated to tourism potential of Uzbekistan was held in Tokyo on 18 December 2013 as part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Japan.
The delegation of Uzbekistan led by chairperson of Uzbektourism Farrukh Rizaev is paying visit to Japan. The roundtable, which was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo, was attended by the management of Japan Tourism Association.
The presentation was organized by Uzbektourism, Uzbekistan Private Tourism Agencies Association, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan, Uzbektourism said.
After the roundtable, the delegation held negotiations with the President of Japan Tourism Association Tasuro Nakamura on strengthening business ties in tourism, including among members of the Japanese Association and APTA, increasing tourists inflow from Japan to Uzbekistan.
On 19 December, the delegation of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Japan National Tourism Organization Ruichi Matsuyama to consider further cooperation in tourism sector, including tourism administrations of two nations.
Within the visit of the Uzbek delegation, the meetings with the largest mass media of Japan, dedicated to promotion of Uzbekistan as one of attractive tourism destinations in Central Asia, organize advertisement campaign in Japan on tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan.
The meetings were focused on increasing number of flights of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari on direction Tashkent-Tokyo-Tashkent based on demand from the Japanese side and to develop tourism exchange between two nations.
