Uzbekistan and Poland discuss issues of economic cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The sixth session of the Uzbek-Polish inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation and Uzbek-Polish Business forum and cooperation exchange were held in Tashkent on 14 November 2013.
The delegation of business circles of Poland was led by the Deputy Minister of Economy Andzrej Dych.
During the session of the inter-governmental commission, the sides considered current state and perspectives of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic, financial-technical, and investment, as well as in agriculture, tourism and other directions.
The sides signed a protocol of the inter-governmental commission in the result of the session of the Uzbek-Polish inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation.
Uzbekistan and Poland established the most favourable trade regime. The bilateral trade turnover between two nations rose by 35.9% year-on-year in 2012. Its volume reached US$127.6 million in January-September 2013.
Currently, about 19 companies with Polish investments are operating in Uzbekistan, of which five are with 100% Polish capital. They specialize in production of construction materials, production of furniture, plastics, fat and oil products, cosmetics, etc.
Four companies from Poland are accredited at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan.
