He said that in line with the signed document, the sides are to cooperate in the fight against illicit trafficking in drugs and weapons as well as to exchange operational information, Tajik Avesta website reported.

"Moreover, the border troops directorates of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have agreed on cooperation in the sphere of migration," Rahmatulloyev said.

"The signing of the protocol is aimed at improving operational relations and interaction between Tajik and Uzbek border guards," Rahmatulloyev concluded.
