Launched Topol rocket was seen in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Strange luminescence was observed over the skies in Tashkent on 10 October 2013, the website Gazeta.uz reported.
“Approximately at 18:45 citizens of Tashkent city could observe a strange glow, which looked like light from strong projector. Then, near the source of the glow bright ring-shaped cloud appeared, as if from an explosion, and then the glow faded,” the edition said.
“Later it became known that the object was an intercontinental ballistic missile RS-12M Topol, launched at 18:39 (Tashkent time) from the State Central Multipurpose firing ground Kapustin Yar in Astrakhan region of Russia within the framework of testing of new combat equipment,” the publication said.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the missile with a given accuracy struck a notional target at Sary-Shagan military ground in Kazakhstan. Military ground Sary-Shagan, leased by the Russian Defense Ministry, is located to the north-west and west of Lake Balkhash in the desert Betpakdala in the territories of Karaganda and Jambul regions of Kazakhstan.
