Uzbekistan, China ink agreements for US$15bn
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and China signed agreements worth US$15 billion on Monday, 9 September 2013, of which US$7.7 billion will be Chinese investments.

The agreements were signed in such key sectors as exploitation of oil, gas and uranium fields in the Central Asian state.

The two sides also signed a document to make changes to an Uzbekistan-China gas pipeline agreement signed a few years ago. The changes were due to the planned construction of a fourth branch of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.

Since 2002, China has invested more than US$6 billion in the Uzbek economy, and the volume of two-way trade reached US$3.4 billion last year. One of priorities of two states is to increase the trade turnover between our countries to US$5 billion by 2017.
