Jizzakh Plastex officially launches in Jizzakh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An official opening ceremony of the Uzbek-German joint venture Jizzakh Plastex with total cost of US$47 million has been held in Jizzakh, the press service of Jizzakh city administration said.
The enterprise can process 12,000 tonnes of cotton-fibre and produce 10,000 tonnes of yarn, as well as 12.5 million ready knitted garments a year.
The first phase of the project was financed due to loans for US$21 million and foreign investments for 2013. The enterprise was founded at the capacities of former hosiery plant and it was equipped with European techno lies.
According to official data, Jizzakh region can process only 9% of cotton, produced in the region. In 2014-2016, the region plans to implement several projects in light industry, which will help to increase cotton processing level up to 68.5%. This will help to increase income of the region by 10-12 times from cotton sales.
Jizzakh is planning to implement 155 projects for US$26 million in 2013. The projects are implemented in such areas as light industry, production of construction materials, chemical industry, furniture and paper production, machinery, electronics, etc.
In 2013-2015, it is planned to commission 243 industrial enterprises with total cost of US$340 in Jizzakh.
