Uzbekistan interested in increasing supplies to Irkutsk region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A group of specialists on production of vegetables and fruits from Uzbekistan will pay a visit to Irkutsk region of Russia in August. Within the visit, it is planned to discuss creation and development of transport-logistic infrastructure to supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to the Russian region.
Governor of Irkutsk region Sergey Eryosenko announced this at the meeting with the head of department of Federal Service on Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision on Irkutsk region Boris Samarsky.
The sides discussed quality of fruits and vegetables, imported from Uzbekistan to Irkutsk region. Boris Samarky said that Russian experts studied experience of Uzbekistan on control over use of fertilizers and chemical products in agriculture sector. Samarsky said that Uzbekistan had strict control in this area.
Overall, products from Uzbekistan meet modern quality requirements, as well as standards and norms. It was said that harvesting and storing of goods conducted with use of modern technologies. Uzbekistan expresses interest in increasing supplies of both fresh and tinned fruits and vegetables to the region, it was said.
