AGMK to construct lead plant with cost of US$60m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine will start construction of new lead plant with the cost of US$60 million in December 2013, Noviy Vek newspaper reported quoting source in the company.
The source said that the capacity of the plant, construction of which will be completed in three years, will make up 15,000 tonnes of goods a year. The enterprise will be integrated into existing polymetallic mining and concentrating complex, the source said.
The project will be financed due to own resources of AGMK at the size of US$20 million and loan of the Uzbek bank – for US$40 million.
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine is an only producer of copper in Uzbekistan.
