Oman delegation arrives in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry arrived in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, yesterday to lead the Sultanate’s delegation in deliberations of the 1st session meetings of the Omani-Uzbek Joint Committee. He was received by Mohammed bin Said al Lawati, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan and officials at the Uzbek government, ONA agency reported.
The committee will discuss topics, including promoting the economic, trade and investment co-operation in the fields of chemical industries, oil, food, building materials and tourism, as well as the banking and financial sectors, in addition to discussing the mechanism of implementing joint investment ventures between the two friendly countries. During the session meetings, expert team meetings will be held, as well as a joint seminar between the businessmen from both sides.
The businessmen council will also meet to review the joint trade opportunities. The delegation accompanying Sayyid Badr comprises Khalil bin Abdullah al Khonji, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Dr Hamad bin Mohammed al Dhoyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA), Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Marshadi, CEO of the State General Reserve Fund and Talib bin Miran al Raeesi, Head of Economic Affairs Sector at the Foreign Ministry.
The delegation also comprises the CEO of the Omani Investment Fund, the Deputy CEO of Oman Oil Company and Omran Company, as well as a number of state officials, OCCI representatives and members of the Businessmen Council between the two countries.
