Kyzylkumcement invests 125bn soums to modernization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Open joint stock company Kyzylkumcement, a largest cement producer of Uzbekistan, invested 125 billion soums to carry out modernization programme in 2008-2011, Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported.
In 2008-2011, the company carried out over 40 projects within the programme on modernization and re-equipment, the paper said.
All modernization works were conducted by own forces and were directed at re-equipping, expanding resource base and production infrastructure.
Within the programme on modernization of construction materials industry for 2007-2011, the plant implemented several large projects. In particular, the company modernized cement milling shop with the capacity of 500,000 tonnes a year. The shop was equipped with high effective separator and it was transferred to closed cycle.
Christian Pfeiffer GmbH of Germany supplied technological equipment. This helped to increase production of Portland cement by 20,000 tonnes a year. Portland cement is used in cementing oil and gas wells and construction of hydraulic works. The company also modernized other milling shops partially and kilns.
Kyzylkumcement is only enterprise in Uzbekistan, which produce cement with “dry” method, which is high economic way of cement production.
The company also expanded production of raw materials. It opened gypsum mine, construction new line of gypsum crushing. New equipment was purchased for mountain shop, which produces raw materials to the company.
Kyzylkumcement also modernizes technical services, which ensure stable production rhythm at the enterprise. So, the company modernized raw material transportation system with 5.5 km length. Introduction of direct supply of mineral replenishers to technologic line also cut expenses for transportation. Modernization of electrostatic cleaners at aspiration shop and installation of new batchers for raw and cement mills at milling shop helped to improve quality of product.
In 2011, the company produced 3,165 million tonnes of cement, which makes up 47% of total volume of cement, produced in Uzbekistan. Some 15% of cement was exported.
