The largest number of enterprises and companies fell to share of agriculture (59.9% of total registered enterprises), trade and catering (14.3%), industry (6.1%) and construction (4.1%), the committee said.

The committee said the share of non-state enterprises in total number of businesses comprised about 93%, including private and dekhkan farms - 60.2%, private enterprises – 22.7%, enterprises with foreign capital – 0.9% and public companies – 0.4%.

The number of newly registered enterprises and companies made up 55,400 in January-September 2007. The majority of new businesses were registered in Ferghana region (13.3% of the total registered enterprises), Samarkand region (12.2%) and Andijan region (10.9%).

About 54.7% of newly registered enterprises were registered in agriculture, trade and catering – 14.6% and industry – 5.7%.
