Uzbekistan Airways redirects 12 flights to Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), national airline of Uzbekistan, redirected 12 flights from Tashkent to Samarkand due to unfavourable weather conditions from 28 December to 2 January.
The company said on 12 January that Samarkand Airport received 12 flights from Frankfurt, Ashgabat, Nukus, London, Sochi, Kiev, Istambul, Lahore, Moscow, Sharjah and Delhi. Overall, the airport served 1,246 passengers.
The company said that all services and subdivisions worked in 24-hour. During waiting their flights, all passengers were placed in hotels of Samarkand.
Samarkand International Airport is the second largest airport of Uzbekistan. The airport can accept any aircrafts – both western and eastern production. The airport can process 400 passengers a year. Samarkand Airport is used as reserve during bad weather.
