According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the significant growth of retail trade turnover was registered in Jizzakh region (21.3%) and Surkhandarya region (20.8%).
At the same time, Tashkent city (2%) and Khorezm region recorded the lowest volume of retail trade turnover growth in nine months of 2010.
Tashkent city (3.77 trillion soums), Tashkent region (1.713 trillion soums) and Fergana region (1.297 trillion soums) were leading on the volume of retail trade turnover in monetary terms.
The lowest volume of retail trade turnover was recorded in Syrdarya (284 billion soums), Jizzakh region (408.4 billion) and Karakalpakstan (485.1 billion soums).
The highest volume of retail trade turnover per capita was recorded in Tashkent city – 1.668 million soums, which is up 3.11 times compared to national figure of 535,000 soums.
In January-September 2010, retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan made up 15.133 trillion soums, which is up 12.2% year-on-year.
