In the reporting period, GRP of Namangan region rose by 12.5% to 1.455 trillion soums. GRP per capita in the region rose by 10.5%. Economy of Samarkand region grew by 12.4% to 2.527 trillion soums.
Syrdarya region (11.5%), Surkhandarya region (10.2%) and Tashkent city (10.9%) also recorded high growth of GRP in the region period. These regions also registered high growth rates of GRP per capita.
In monetary terms, the highest growth of GRP was in Tashkent city with the figure of 7,276 trillion soums. Tashkent region and Kashkadarya region followed Tashkent city with 4.049 trillion soums and 3.44 trillion soums respectively.
Lowest growth of GRP was observed in Ferghana region (2.6%), Kashkadarya region (4%), Navoi region (5%). In monetary volume, the lowest GRP was recorded in Syrdarya region – 642.7 billion soums.
Gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 40.412 trillion soums in January-September 2010, or grew by 8.3% year-on-year.
